Fall.

Sweet cider apple. Devon, England, early 18th century.

Soft white flesh is sugary sweet with minimal tannin or acid. Presses into a rich syrupy juice (SG 1.052), perfect for fermenting and blending. Medium-sized conical fruit is often lumpy and irregular. Pale yellow skin, often with some red blush.

Fruit is prone to dropping when ripe and does not store more than a few weeks, so keep an eye on it in late October. Tends toward biennialism. Mid-late season bloom. Zone 5.
