An iconic striped apple that is immediately recognizable once you know it. Medium-large round-oblate apples are pale yellow washed and marbled with bright red and overlaid with striking dark red stripes. Crisp juicy tender fine-grained flesh is tart with a hint of lemon. Ripens over a period of several weeks in September. All-purpose. Recommended for dessert, pies or sauce.
Red St. Lawrence was discovered in Newburgh, Maine, as a sport (mutation) of the original St. Lawrence with a much redder ground color under the darker red stripes. Blooms midseason. Z3. Maine Grown. (Semi-dwarf: 2½-5' bare-root trees)
