Pyrus × bretschneideriFall. Pyrus × bretschneideri. Heirloom Chinese storage pear that improves after a few months in the root cellar. Medium-large dessert fruit has yellow-green thick skin and juicy sweet crisp white flesh. Oval shaped with an unusually long neck for an Asian cultivar.
Mature tree form is upright yet semi-dwarfing (hovers around 15') and considered to be somewhat resistant to fireblight. Cultivated in China but the trees we offer are thought to be of a strain from California that has shown more vigor and higher productivity. Z5. NEW! (2½-6' bare-root trees)
