Summer.
Parentage unknown. Believed to be an old Japanese cultivar.
One of the earliest Asian pears to ripen. Very sweet crisp juicy yellow flesh. Small to medium-sized fruit. Considered the best Asian pear for drying due to its firm flesh and high sugar content paired with its hesitation to become mushy after ripening.
Heavy yields. Productive enough to benefit from thinning. Requires a second pear variety for pollination. Zone 5.
