stock details: well-rooted bare-root vines
Vitis spp.
Early season.

(E.S. 6-16-30) Concord × Vitis riparia. Elmer Swenson intro, circa 1980.

White wine grape bred for Minnesota winters. Golden-green grapes in medium-sized loose clusters ripen to a low Brix, 19-20, with low acidity. Makes a light floral citrusy dry white wine that isn’t too acidic and reminds one of French Muscadet. Noted for mineral pineapple notes in trials by Minnesota grape breeders Tom Plocher and Mark Hart.

Not widely planted or well known, but cold-hardy winemakers are starting to show interest.  Hardy to around –30°. Zone 4.
