King of the North Grape

bare-root plants
Vitis spp. Mid. (V. riparia × Concord-type) Madison, Wisconsin. Very hardy dark-skinned table and wine grape originally named and offered by Jung’s Nursery many years ago.

Minnesota grower and winemaker John Marshall recommends King of the North as the one variety for both a good table grape and a decent red “Concord style” wine. He says that it’s “very delicious particularly as a home wine.”

Produces light red sweet tasty juice. Ripens slightly later than Bluebell. Back after a long absence from our catalog. Z3. (well-rooted vines)
