Valor × Iroquois. New York State Agricultural Experiment Station, Cornell, Geneva, NY, 1993. 

Rich blue-black skin has a blue-grey bloom. Firm golden-yellow flesh is sweet and balanced. Freestone, with a smaller pit than other European plums. Medium-large elliptical fruit is a bit rounder than the beloved Stanley, excellent for fresh eating or preserving. Similar yields to Stanley with better resistance to black knot and ripens about 3 weeks earlier. 

Upright tree form. Partially self-fertile but yields best when paired with another European plum. Zone 4.

European Plums

Although European plums are self-pollinating, planting two different varieties will improve pollination. (Will not pollinate hybrid plums.) Mature trees are 15–20', or smaller. Space 20' apart.
