Final order deadline for
potatoes and sets:
late spring, when we run out of stock
Ginger and turmeric will be shipped starting in late February. Onion plants and sweet potato slips are drop-shipped directly from our growers according to your planting zone/region unless you indicate otherwise at checkout. Otherwise, we begin shipping Potatoes, Onions and Exotics orders in late March, finishing by early May. We cannot ship before that; we regret that we cannot honor any requests to do so.
Available for shipment in late February only. Zingiber officianale
Ginger in this climate? The craze has been sweeping the Northeast. Several successful farms in Maine proved to nonbelievers that the power of high tunnels, irrigation and organic fertility can produce a coveted hand of baby ginger, the most delicate and earthy of tropical crops. Don’t hide this precious gem by mincing it small or masking it in heavy sauces: try it as crystallized chunks in homemade vanilla ice cream, or sliced into thick batons in a zesty stir-fry, or slipped over the rim of a fancy cocktail (Baby Ginger Margs, anyone?) Its beauty eclipses supermarket ginger, too: the rose-tinged pearlescent skin will draw customers from yards away.
One pound can be cut into approximately ten to fifteen seed pieces.
Ships in late February, or as soon as weather permits. ②
