20-30' × 10-40' Very hardy, native to Russia, Poland and parts of eastern Asia. Also known as Siberian Violet-willow.
This gorgeous willow displays a rainbow of colors throughout the seasons. Young shoots range from dark red to deep purple and develop a frosty white bloom with maturity. Silver catkins dangle in early spring, then narrow pointed 4"-long leaves turn from bright green to a lively yellow in the fall. Likes full sun and moist soil. Zone 2.
