Abundant double bell-shaped bright white flowers cover lustrous green foliage. Flowers start budding late June then gradually open in August and bloom as late as October. Foliage develops bronze tips in winter. Mounded sea-urchin shape.
Magical, mythical and medicinal evergreen groundcover. Native to the dry forests, heaths and bare grounds of Britain and Ireland. More recently naturalized in North America. Winner of RHS Award of Garden Merit. Zone 4.
