Golden to deep orange sepals surround upright modified petals that resemble little licks of flame. These dreamy late-spring blooms hold a surprisingly long time. Excellent for cutting. Nice mounding buttercup-like foliage.
We are crazy about Trollius, which are like enormous fancy buttercups. Ideal for a moist border, streamside, or naturalizing in a damp meadow, though ours are thriving in well-drained garden soil with some mulch.
Plant 8–12" apart in moist heavy soil, full sun to part shade. Zone 3.
