2–3' tall. Add shades of blue to your native pollinator garden with attractive blue-green grass-like foliage and clusters of 1" lavender-blue 3-petaled flowers with bright yellow anthers. Blossoms open in the morning and close in the heat of the day, May through July.
Clump-forming; may need dividing every few years. Prefers moist sandy soils, but tolerates clay. Plant 12–18" apart in full to part sun. Native to central and eastern North America. Zone 4.
