Acorn group
About 270 seeds/oz; ⅛ oz packet sows 6–7 hills. Dr. Loy found that acorn squash often are not fully ripe even when they attain full size and color. They continue to develop sugars until 45 days after pollination. Do not harvest until most of the fruits display an orange ground spot. Much of their reputation for watery, fibrous, inconsistent eating quality is probably the result of premature harvesting.
