Sarah Crabapple

Malus spp. 15x15' Autumn Glory x Angel Choir. John Fiala intro, Falconskeape, Medina, OH, 1990.

One of our favorite “rose” crabs. Small white cup-shaped semi-double flowers with yellow stamens look like miniature roses or maybe snowdrops covering the entire upright-rounded tree. Half-inch orange-red persistent fruit in autumn hang on till spring.

Named for Sarah Klehm, whose surname is well recognized in the nursery world for the family’s outstanding plant collections and work in introducing some wonderful cultivars to the trade. Z3. Maine Grown. (Semi-dwarf: 2½-5' bare-root trees)
