Medium-small russet fruit with a longtime reputation as one of the very best dessert russets. Firm, crisp, juicy, rich, subacid and aromatic, with interesting aftertastes. Very good fresh eating. The combination of the chalky russet and the green ground color give the skin its grey (grise) appearance. Recognizably different from the various Golden Russet types.
Vigorous dense round spreading tree prefers northern locations. Ours has been consistently productive. Keeps fairly well, still crunchy in January. Blooms midseason. Z3. Maine Grown. (Standard: 3-6' bare-root trees)
