Nova Summer-bearing Raspberry

Mid. Southland x Boyne. Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada, 1981.

In our trials Nova appears as hardy, if not hardier, than Boyne, which we often carry, and on par in fruit quality, too. Medium-sized firm somewhat acid bright red fruit. Upright productive minimally spiny canes produce long fruiting laterals that make berries easy to pick.

Summer-bearing raspberries bear on second-year canes (floricanes). Midseason berries ripen around late July in central Maine. Z3. (bare-root canes)
