Late Summer. MN 70 (P. sal. Burbank x P. a.) U Minn, 1920.
Medium-sized roundish ovate pointed fruit has thick deep purple skin and a thin bloom. Meaty tart strong-flavored orange flesh.
Frank Foltz of the old Northwind Nursery in Minnesota described it to us as having a “strong, spice flavor on the tart side…too tart, perhaps, for most peoples’ taste, but I like the sprightly flavor.” We like it, too! Clingstone. Vigorous reliable productive upright spreading tree. Z3/4. Maine Grown. (3-6' bare-root trees)
