Polar Bear Crabapple

Malus 20x20' Henry Ross intro, Gardenview Horticultural Park, Strongsville, OH.

Very large “polar bear”–sized double white flowers look like little white roses before they fully open. Medium-sized tree with upright rounded form.

After first reading about Henry Ross in John Fiala’s classic crabapple text, we wrote to Mr. Ross to ask him about offering some of his selections. Since then we have had the privilege of listing several, including this Fedco exclusive. Seems to be rare in the trade as we haven’t found it anywhere else. Persistent fruit. Z3/4. Maine Grown. (Semi-dwarf: 2½-5' bare-root trees)
