Liset Crabapple

Liset Crabapple

Malus 15x20' (Malus x purpurea ‘Lemoinei’ x M. sieboldii) The Hague, Netherlands, 1938.

Bright crimson-red buds, followed by single red flowers, often considered the brightest and truest red of any crab. Although not well-known, Liset shows up on every “Best Crabs” list. Once you see it, it’s hard not to agree. Glowing reddish copper deep green foliage, our favorite of all “red-leaf” cultivars.

This medium-sized tree has the absolute perfect open spreading horizontal form. Not too open, not too dense, not too large, not too shrimpy. Medium fruit display. Dark red 3/4" round fruit. Scab resistant. Z4. Maine Grown. (Semi-dwarf: 2½-5' bare-root trees)
