Kaleidoscope Crabapple

Kaleidoscope Crabapple

Malus 16' x same. GV 22. Seedling of Van Eseltine. Henry Ross intro, Gardenview Hort Park, Strongsville, OH, 2003.

Sister seedling of Ross’s Double Red. Henry wrote to us, “The flowers appear mostly in huge panicles at the ends of the branches.” A kaleidoscope of dark pink, light pink and white double blossoms all share the tree simultaneously. Attractive small dark red ½" fruit. Bronze foliage. Loose rounded spreading open form.

Henry Ross lived frugally, worked 18-hour days, and intentionally never married so as to dedicate his entire life to his horticultural park, a nonprofit green space endowed to the public forever.

Another Fedco exclusive. Z4. Maine Grown. (Semi-dwarf: 2½-5' bare-root trees)
