Old-Fashioned Bleeding Heart

Dicentra spectabilis Graceful racemes arch over clumps of attractive foliage. Distinctive pink heart-shaped flowers dangle in a row on each raceme like charms on a bracelet. Also called Lyre Flower, its genus has been updated to Lamprocapnos spectabilis.

This hardy long-lived perennial thrives in rich moist soil and full to partial shade. Well-established plants can grow up to 3' wide. Native to Asia. Goes dormant in summer. Plant 2–4" deep, 24" apart.

30–36" tall. Early to Mid Spring blooms, Z3-8. 2-3 eyes.
